A fingerprint heart Valentine’s Day gift you make together
Valentine’s Day gifts can feel generic: the same roses, the same chocolates. A fingerprint heart is a heart shape made from the two of you, built from one real ink fingerprint each. It is also digital, so it works as a last-minute gift: you can make it the evening before and print it the same day.

Make it a date, not just a gift
Making the prints is a small, playful activity. Set out an ink pad, paper, and wipes, take turns pressing fingertips, and choose the best print from each of you. Then open the creator together and try names, a date, and a short message. With Signature you can compare the Classic, Split, and Intertwined compositions side by side.
Last-minute plan

- Valentine’s morning: print at a local photo counter or on a home printer, using the size from the guide.

How to make it, step by step
- Press each fingertip lightly on an ink pad, then press it down firmly onto plain white paper and lift straight up — do not roll. One clean print beats three smudged ones.
- Photograph each print with your phone in even daylight, straight on, with no shadow from your hand or phone.
- Open the creator on ourimprint.ca and add both photos. They are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.
- Add names, a date, and a short message, or leave them off for an artwork-only version.
- Check the free preview. When you are happy, choose Essential or Signature and download the PNG and printing guide.

It carries a redeem code valid for 12 months. The recipient goes to ourimprint.ca/recover, enters the code, and adds their own two ink prints. Same price, nothing extra to buy.
Hoping to gift a print? A print is made from the recipient’s own two fingerprints, so it can’t be made ahead of time. Give a gift certificate instead: the recipient adds their own prints and creates their artwork — that is what the certificate covers — and from that finished artwork they can order a matte or framed print. The print is a separate order.

Can I make it as a surprise?
Yes, buy a gift certificate. Tick “This is a gift” before checkout and you get a printable certificate with a redeem code, valid for 12 months. Your partner redeems it at ourimprint.ca/recover and adds the prints, so you do not need their fingerprint in advance. Same price as Essential or Signature.
How fast can I get the file?
The file is made on your device once you pay, so you can download it right away and print it the same day.
Is anything shipped?
Not with the digital packages, which are a high-resolution PNG plus a printing guide. Want it printed for you? You can order a matte print (5×7 CA$29, 8×10 CA$39, 12×16 CA$49) or a framed print in black or oak (8×10 CA$79, 12×16 CA$109), shipped free to Canada and the US in about 1–2 weeks; international shipping to the UK, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand is a flat CA$15 (import VAT or duties may apply). Printed by our print partner, Printful, and it includes the Signature digital files.
