A fingerprint heart anniversary gift made from your two ink prints
An anniversary gift works best when it could only belong to the two of you. A fingerprint heart does that literally: two real ink fingerprints, one from each partner, joined into a single heart. Nothing is invented. The ridges in the artwork are the ridges you pressed onto paper.

Why it suits an anniversary
Anniversaries mark time spent together, and fingerprints are a quiet record of a person. Putting both prints side by side in one shape says "us" without needing a long speech. Add your names and the date you met or married, and the piece becomes a small record of the relationship.
Because you make the prints yourselves, the making can be part of the gift. Many couples ink their fingers together on the evening of the anniversary, then print and frame the result the following week.

- First anniversary (paper): print the artwork on heavy cotton or watercolour paper and give it unframed with a handwritten note.
- Fifth anniversary (wood): pair the print with a simple wooden frame.

How to make it, step by step
- Press each fingertip lightly on an ink pad, then press it down firmly onto plain white paper and lift straight up — do not roll. One clean print beats three smudged ones.
- Photograph each print with your phone in even daylight, straight on, with no shadow from your hand or phone.
- Open the creator on ourimprint.ca and add both photos. They are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.
- Add names, a date, and a short message, or leave them off for an artwork-only version.
- Check the free preview. When you are happy, choose Essential or Signature and download the PNG and printing guide.
Printing and framing tips
The download includes a printing guide with every print size, so you can choose a common frame size first and print to fit. Matte paper keeps the fine ridge detail readable and avoids glare. If you are printing at a shop, send the PNG as-is rather than a screenshot so nothing is compressed.
Essential is CA$19 / US$15: one composition with personalized and artwork-only versions in every print size. Signature is CA$29 / US$23: three compositions (Classic, Split, and Intertwined), all in the colours you choose. Both are a digital download (high-resolution PNG and printing guide); you can also order a printed and framed copy shipped to your door. The preview is free.
Keeping it a surprise? Give a gift certificate
Gift it now, they make it later. Choose Essential or Signature, tick “This is a gift” before checkout, and print the certificate that appears after payment. It carries a redeem code valid for 12 months. The recipient goes to ourimprint.ca/recover, enters the code, and adds their own two ink prints. Same price, nothing extra to buy.
Hoping to gift a print? A print is made from the recipient’s own two fingerprints, so it can’t be made ahead of time. Give a gift certificate instead: the recipient adds their own prints and creates their artwork — that is what the certificate covers — and from that finished artwork they can order a matte or framed print. The print is a separate order.

Can we make it if we live in different places on our anniversary?
Yes. Each of you can ink and photograph your own print, then one person adds both photos in the creator. See the long-distance couple gift page for tips.
Is a physical print shipped?
Not with the digital packages: you receive a high-resolution PNG and a printing guide to print it yourself. Want it printed for you? You can order a matte print (5×7 CA$29, 8×10 CA$39, 12×16 CA$49) or a framed print in black or oak (8×10 CA$79, 12×16 CA$109), shipped free to Canada and the US in about 1–2 weeks; international shipping to the UK, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand is a flat CA$15 (import VAT or duties may apply). Do we need special ink?
A standard washable stamp pad in black or a dark colour works well. Press lightly; too much ink fills in the ridges.
