A parent and child keepsake: a fingerprint heart from both your prints

Children’s fingerprints change size quickly. A fingerprint heart that pairs a parent’s print with a child’s keeps both at one moment in time, joined into a single heart. It makes a thoughtful Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or birthday gift, or simply a record of a year.
Our Imprint uses the real prints you photograph, processed in your browser. It never draws in ridges that are not there, which matters when the point is to keep the real thing.

Tips for inking small fingers
- Use a washable, non-toxic ink pad and have wipes ready.
- Choose a calm moment, such as after a nap or snack. For babies, a sleeping hand is often easiest.
- Hold the finger gently, press it lightly on the pad, then press straight down on the paper and lift straight up without rolling.
- Take several prints and pick the clearest; small prints smudge easily.
- Photograph in daylight, straight on, filling the frame with the print.
Gift ideas
- Mother’s Day or Father’s Day: a child and a parent make prints together, and the other parent frames the result.
- Grandparents: pair a grandparent’s print with a grandchild’s for a gift that spans generations.
- Yearly tradition: make a new one each birthday and keep them together to show how the small print grows.
- New baby: pair a parent’s print with the baby’s first clear print and add the birth date.
Personalizing it
Add both names, a date, and a short message, or keep the artwork-only version for a cleaner look. Every package includes every print size, so you can make a small print for a nursery shelf and a larger one for a living room wall from the same file set.
Essential is CA$19 / US$15: one composition with personalized and artwork-only versions in every print size. Signature is CA$29 / US$23: three compositions (Classic, Split, and Intertwined), all in the colours you choose. Both are a digital download (high-resolution PNG and printing guide); you can also order a printed and framed copy shipped to your door. The preview is free.
Privacy
Fingerprint photos, names, date, and message stay in the browser. They are not uploaded, and checkout does not upload them. There is no account to create.
Keeping it a surprise? Give a gift certificate
Gift it now, they make it later. Choose Essential or Signature, tick “This is a gift” before checkout, and print the certificate that appears after payment. It carries a redeem code valid for 12 months. The recipient goes to ourimprint.ca/recover, enters the code, and adds their own two ink prints. Same price, nothing extra to buy.
Hoping to gift a print? A print is made from the recipient’s own two fingerprints, so it can’t be made ahead of time. Give a gift certificate instead: the recipient adds their own prints and creates their artwork — that is what the certificate covers — and from that finished artwork they can order a matte or framed print. The print is a separate order.

Questions
Will a baby’s fingerprint be clear enough?
Often yes, but very small prints can be faint. Take several, choose the sharpest, and check the free preview before buying. Cleanup can remove smears but will not invent missing ridges.
Can we use a thumbprint instead of a fingertip?
Yes. Any single clear fingerprint works, and a thumb is often easier with small children.
Do you ship a printed keepsake?
No. You get a high-resolution PNG and a printing guide to print where you like.
Can you print and frame it for me?
Want it printed for you? You can order a matte print (5×7 CA$29, 8×10 CA$39, 12×16 CA$49) or a framed print in black or oak (8×10 CA$79, 12×16 CA$109), shipped free to Canada and the US in about 1–2 weeks; international shipping to the UK, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand is a flat CA$15 (import VAT or duties may apply). Printed by our print partner, Printful, and it includes the Signature digital files. A print cannot be sent as a gift certificate; order it with your own two prints and ship it to the recipient. If the print should be made from the recipient’s own prints, give a gift certificate instead: they create the artwork first, then can order a print of it.
