A long-distance couple gift: one fingerprint heart from two places

When you live apart, gifts usually travel by mail. A fingerprint heart travels as two photos. Each of you inks a fingertip at home, takes a photo, and one of you puts both prints together into a single heart. It is a small way to be in the same picture when you cannot be in the same room.
Our Imprint uses your real prints only. The photos are processed in your browser, and there is no AI drawing in the ridges.

How to do it when you are apart
- Agree on one person to assemble the artwork.
- Each person presses a fingertip on an ink pad, presses it down firmly onto plain white paper, lifts straight up without rolling, and photographs it in daylight, straight on.
- Send the photo to your partner through whatever you already use to share photos. Send the original rather than a cropped or filtered copy.
- The assembling partner opens the creator, adds both photos, and adds names and a date if wanted.
- Check the free preview together over a video call, then download the PNG and printing guide.
Making it a two-household gift
With the digital download, both of you can print it locally. Print the same size in each home and use matching frames, so the same heart hangs in two places. It also makes a good phone or desktop wallpaper while you count down to the next visit.
Good dates to put on it: the day you met, the day you became official, or the date you will finally close the distance.
Gift ideas built around it
- A countdown: print it small and pin it next to a calendar of visit dates.
- A care package: print it on card stock and include it with a letter.
- A reunion gift: keep the framed print hidden and give it on arrival.

Signature is CA$29 / US$23: three compositions (Classic, Split, and Intertwined), all in the colours you choose. Keeping it a surprise? Give a gift certificate
Gift it now, they make it later. Choose Essential or Signature, tick “This is a gift” before checkout, and print the certificate that appears after payment. It carries a redeem code valid for 12 months. The recipient goes to ourimprint.ca/recover, enters the code, and adds their own two ink prints. Same price, nothing extra to buy.
Hoping to gift a print? A print is made from the recipient’s own two fingerprints, so it can’t be made ahead of time. Give a gift certificate instead: the recipient adds their own prints and creates their artwork — that is what the certificate covers — and from that finished artwork they can order a matte or framed print. The print is a separate order.

Questions
Does my partner need to use the website too?
No. Only the person assembling the artwork needs to use the creator. The other person just sends a clear photo of their ink print.
What if my partner’s photo is blurry?
Ask for another. A sharp, evenly lit photo of a single light print gives the clearest ridges. Automatic cleanup never invents missing detail.
Can we both print it?
Yes. With the digital download (PNG and printing guide) each of you can print your own copy, or order a printed and framed copy shipped to each door.
Can you print and frame it for me?
Want it printed for you? You can order a matte print (5×7 CA$29, 8×10 CA$39, 12×16 CA$49) or a framed print in black or oak (8×10 CA$79, 12×16 CA$109), shipped free to Canada and the US in about 1–2 weeks; international shipping to the UK, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand is a flat CA$15 (import VAT or duties may apply). Printed by our print partner, Printful, and it includes the Signature digital files. A print cannot be sent as a gift certificate; order it with your own two prints and ship it to the recipient. If the print should be made from the recipient’s own prints, give a gift certificate instead: they create the artwork first, then can order a print of it.
